4 get Arif Budiman Malay Language Teachers' award


SINGAPORE: Four outstanding teachers received the Arif Budiman Malay Language Teachers' award from Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean on Saturday.

They were Ms Massuniza Ismail from Balestier Hill Secondary School, Mdm Safidah Samsudin from Da Qiao Primary School, Mr Muslim Hanafiah from Yusof Ishak Secondary School and Mr Supandi Djoraemi from Dunearn Secondary School.

Now in its sixth year, the award aims to recognise Malay Language teachers for their contributions in the teaching and learning of Malay Language in school.

Each award recipient received a S$1,500 fully sponsored overseas study trip for professional development, a trophy and a certificate of achievement.

Funded by the Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee, 20 Malay Language teachers have received the award since its inception in 2007.
